Terms and Conditions of Travel
Ceiba Nature Tours, or any of the employees, associates, or
representatives, acts only as agent for the passenger in regard
to all travel, hotel accommodation, and other services afforded
to the passenger, including travel by railroad, motor car, motor
coach, boat, or airplane, and including all housing, food, medical
care, and other services, and assumes no liability for any injury,
damage, loss, accident, delay, expense, or irregularity which
may occur in connection with any such travel, accommodation, or
other service, including, without limitation, those arising by
virtue of any defect in any vehicle, and/or those arising through
the act or default of any company or person engaged in conveying
the passenger or in carrying out any arrangement of the tour.
Ceiba Nature Tours, reserves the right to substitute hotels and
travel accommodations of similar type for those indicated in any
tour, and to make any changes in the itinerary when or where deemed
necessary or caused by changes in travel schedules. Ceiba Nature
Tours, reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to departure,
in which case full refund will constitute full settlement to the
passenger.
The prices of the tours are based on tariffs and exchange rates
in effect on January 1, of the trip year, and are subject to adjustment
in the event of any change therein, to be born by the passenger.
Ceiba Nature Tours, reserves the right to decline to accept
or to retain any person as a member of any tour, including after
departure of the tour, if for any reason the continuation of that
person on the tour is deemed by the tour leader to be detrimental
to the other members of the group.
Each passenger’s baggage is at his or her own risk at
all times, entirely.
Receipt of these terms constitutes acceptance of said terms
unless otherwise stated in writing.
A deposit of $500-$1500 per person is required to book your
trip. Credit cards are not accepted for payment. The balance is
due 60 days prior to the departure date. Air fare charges, if
not included in the price of the trip, are due payable when flight
ticket purchase is confirmed. Notification of cancellation must
be made in writing. At the time Ceiba Nature Tours, receives your
notice the following charges apply: 121 days or more before departure
cancellation fee is $50; 91-120 days before departure cancellation
fee is $100; 60-90 days before departure cancellation fee is $150;
59 days or less before departure cancellation fee is $200 and
additionally any cancellation fee charged by the operators providing
the services included in your excursion, and/or the airlines providing
air transportation, which are not recoverable; for Africa Safari
deposit is forfeited and additional charges levied as described
in attachment. No refunds are given for unused accommodations,
meals, or services for any reason at any time during the trip.
Ceiba Nature Tours fully expects each trip to depart as planned,
but in some instances it may be necessary to adjust prices to
reflect small group size. Price increases may be assessed up to
30 days prior to departure. In the extreme event a trip is cancelled
due to insufficient sign-ups all payments are returned.
If an itinerary must be modified due to weather, road conditions,
lack of transportation, political or civil disputes, medical emergency,
or other causes beyond our control, all associated costs, including
any non-recoverable costs, are not included in the trip rates
or refunded. You must have travel insurance to cover these costs.
Travel medical, cancellation, repatriation, and baggage insurance
are strongly recommended. A policy is provided upon receipt of
your deposit or you may select your own. Please note that most
policies tie the availability of a Pre-existing Conditions Exclusion
Waiver to your date of deposit, usually 14 days. Travel insurance
is required for Africa Safari trip.
Good physical and mental health are essential for the enjoyment
of the trip for yourself and other participants. Travel may be
in areas remote from modern medical facilities. By forwarding
the deposit and signed registration form, the passenger certifies
that he/she does not have any physical or other condition of disability
that would create a hazard for him/her or other participants.
Ceiba Nature Tours assumes no responsibility for medical care
or for special dietary requirements. The company’s or leader’s
judgment shall provide the ultimate determination of an individual’s
fitness to embark upon, or to continue a trip. It is essential
that you contact your family physician to determine your medical
requirements and suitability for your destination of travel.
